Thinking of Leasing or Renting? Renters and Leasors. New growing SCAMING initiative by criminals!
If you or someone you know is considering leasing/renting a place you found online (Kijiji, Craigslist..) or through the newspaper, please do yourself a favor and contact a Realtor to make sure that person advertising that condo, actually owns it. If you are looking for apartments/houses in Toronto or Mississauga, I am happy to help you determine if the landlord has legitimate claim to that property (townhouse/condo whatever) - no strings. Be safe online! Never wire money to a potential landlord. Never give cash for security deposit. Most any Realtor would be happy to help - you just have to ask. Don't be a victim to this fast growing scam in the GTA.
Not sure if if your Realtor is legit? Search her/him on reco.on.ca for pending court cases and case verdicts. Like any preofession, there are good Realtors and not so good Realtors. Be confident when choosing your Realtor. Ask for refferals and run their name through www.Reco.on.ca
